High Quality

Premium grain-oriented electrical steel delivers low losses, high magnetic permeability, precise grain alignment, and improved efficiency for transformer cores and applications.

What is GOES?

Grain Oriented Electrical Steel (GOES) is a silicon-iron alloy with a silicon content of approximately 2.9%–3.5%.

Its crystal grains are highly aligned in the rolling direction, resulting in strong magnetic anisotropy. In the rolling direction, GOES exhibits the lowest core loss and the highest magnetic permeability.

Advantages Of Oriented Electrical Steel

  • Low iron loss
  • Excellent adhesion
  • Low noise
  • Good consistency
  • Outstanding process ability
  • Perfect dimensional accuracy

difference between GOES and NGOES

  • GOES (Grain Oriented Electrical Steel) has strong magnetic properties in a specific direction. NGOES (Non-Oriented Electrical Steel) has uniform magnetic properties.
  • GOES is mainly used in transformer cores where magnetic flux follows a fixed path. NGOES is typically used in motors, generators, and rotating electrical machines.

Grain Oriented Silicon Steel Material Manufactured

The production of Grain Oriented Electrical Steel material involves a complex and carefully controlled process.
The typical manufacturing process includes:

Hot rolling
Normalizing
Cold rolling
Decarburization annealing
High-temperature annealing

In addition, special inhibitors such as MnS (manganese sulfide) and AlN (aluminum nitride) are added to control grain growth.

Quality Control For Grain Oriented Electrical Steel

Oriented Steel FAQS

GOES laminations are typically coated with insulation layers such as C-2 or C-5 coatings. These coatings provide electrical insulation between laminations, reduce eddy current losses, and improve stacking performance. High-quality coatings also ensure strong adhesion and prevent peeling during cutting, slitting, and core assembly processes.

Yes, GOES can be processed into customized forms to meet specific transformer designs. This includes precision slitting, cut-to-length laminations, step-lap cutting, and complete core assembly. Manufacturers can also adjust dimensions, coating types, and stacking methods to optimize performance, reduce core loss, and improve overall efficiency.

GOES without base coating is typically used when additional bonding processes such as adhesive bonding or backlack coating are required. It offers more flexibility for customized insulation systems and special manufacturing processes.

Laser scribed GOES is processed with fine laser lines on the surface to refine magnetic domains. This reduces core loss, especially under high-frequency or load conditions. It is widely used in high-efficiency transformers and premium electrical equipment.
